DOT/FMCSA Consortium

All employees covered by 49 CFR Part 382 (commercial drivers) are subject to initial and random DOT drug and alcohol testing.   To facilitate this process, we help employers join together into a consortium, pooling all covered employees together.   Subjects for random tests will then be selected quarterly from the larger pool.  To keep the selection process random, the DOT requires owner-operators to join a consortium

Third-Party Administrator

Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) manage all, or part, of an employer's DOT drug and alcohol testing program.  We assist in implementing your drug and alcohol testing program and help keep you compliant with the DOT/FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Testing rules and regulations.  We make your life easier by maintaining your testing records, providing documentation, and contracting and paying for certified Laboratory testing and accredited Medical Review Officers.  Although we do not provide legal advice, we happily work with you to share industry best practices, DOT guidance, help finding qualified substance abuse professionals, and other training options.

Collection Sites

Mobile Lab employs self-contained mobile collection sites that are DATIA accredited and extremely convenient for you and your employees.  We offer extended service hours and can provide on-site collection service almost anywhere with our self-contained mobile units.  We offer DOT and non-DOT laboratory urine collections, breath alcohol tests, and rapid-screen drug tests.  We also have established relationships with nationally accredited collection sites all over Northern Colorado.

Our Team

Mobile Lab employs a team of professional collectors and administrators certified by the Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association and Lifeloc Technologies.

When you sign up with us…

  • FMCSA

    1. Employers register your company in the FMCSA Clearinghouse

    2. Employers select ‘Mobile Lab USA’ as their consortium

    3. Drivers are required to register themselves in the Clearinghouse

    4. Employers are required to query each driver before hiring and yearly after that

    5. Employers send your list of covered employees to Mobile Lab USA

    6. MRO will use the Clearinghouse to report verified positive tests

    7. Mobile Lab will report all results to Employers

    8. Employers report to the Clearinghouse any failed tests, refusal to test, or “Actual Knowledge” of a violation

  • Mobile Lab USA - Consortium

    1. We complete the initial program setup of all covered and non-covered employees

    2. We work with you to perform required pre-employment testing (30 days)

    3. We generate and deliver Quarterly Random lists

      1. Consortium Large Pool, DOT private pools, non-DOT private pools

    4. We provide Membership Cards/Certificates

    5. We provide Letters of Compliance as requested

    6. We collect and tabulate Quarterly / Yearly statistics

  • TPA

    1. We contract Laboratory Testing services and accounts

    2. We procure CCF/COC and Test Req forms

    3. We contract and coordinate with local collection sites

    4. We provide BAT and Rapid screen results

    5. We contract Medical Review Officers

    6. We send you Invoices

    7. We send you the laboratory drug testing results

  • Mobile Drug and Alcohol Collections

    1. Our vans go to your site

    2. We have scheduled appointments and extended hours

    3. DOT drug and Alcohol, non-DOT drug and Alcohol, Rapid screen drug

    4. Come to us with no on-site fee (great for pre-employment)
